Their appearance in the fields is such a beautiful marker of the season change. I think of them as a kind of Heartland Stonehenge. (And they're fun to climb on!)
One of our long-standing "gotchas" between Wifefish and I is to say "HAY!" when we see these. Mistaking for "hey" still happens, 10 years later, though it has become rare. We're nerds.
