Potato Latkes

Happy Hanukkah! I'm not sure which of my friends makes the best latkes. It's a toss up between Ted and Sarah. I think it would be delicious to challenge them to a latke cook-off. How do you like yours? With sour cream or apple sauce? I can never decide and have to have both.


  1. The Stone Soup eatery here in Burlington bakes rather than fries their latkes and includes grated carrot with the potato, onion and egg. We're having a Jewish friend for the holidays, and I'm going to try the recipe on her, served with my homemade organic applesauce sweetened with a touch of Vermont maple syrup and maybe a dollop of Greek yogurt. Happy Hanukkah!
