Today's reason (although shared by me—bigtime!) is courtesy of Carrie Thurston and Kathy Frazier, who both listed it as their summer-specific reason to be happy entry in a recent book giveaway on my Facebook fan page. I love summer storms, although we certainly got more than our share of them in Ohio this year! I love them for the drama—hail, wind, warm rain, the lightning shows. Mother Nature showing off.

#75: Summer Thunderstorms

I love both storms and Carrie. So, double today.
ReplyDeleteYay! I love Carrie, too (and Kathy!). :-) Small world, isn't it?
ReplyDeleteI love thunderstorms! There used to be an a cappella group based in Cincinnati called "VoiceBox." On their last CD they had a song called "Dixie Storms" with mezzosoprano Elise Hyder (whom you remind me of) singing the solo against a real thunderstorm in the background. I can't find a recording of that on the Internet, but at least you can hear the song here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rd5tleKzgpM. I believe that's the composer, Marie McKee, singing.
ReplyDeleteVery cool, beckcomm. Love it. Thanks!
